Mortal Instruments Movie Adaption

Last year someone recommended I read the Mortal Instruments books and while its probably more for teens that I am comfortable admitting, it was really fun. Which is exactly how I felt about the Hunger Games. I was a bit bewildered as to why everyone in the book was a dick only to realise all the characters are 16. The first book, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, is being adapted into a movie being released in August 2013.

Synopsis:
Set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray (Lily Collins), discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother (Lena Headey), Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures.

I'm pretty proud of the fact I got to read the books before the movie came out, unlike The Hunger Games. That's my hipster tendencies coming out there. When the rumours about the movie surfaced I was very sceptical about Jamie Campbell Bower playing Jace(I just dislike his face for no reason) but after watching the trailer I think the movie might be pretty decent.
The face of a dick

One thing I am very excited about is Robert Sheehan(Nathan from Misfits) was cast as Simon, probably one of my favourite characters from the book.

Robert Sheehan on the right

This movie is definitely one to look out for later this year.
